About Me

We each have a unique journey that shapes who we are. For me, the journey of being curious about the human mind began in my teenage years, driven by a desire to find meaning and better understand myself and the world around me. This interest stayed with me over the years and eventually shaped my career path, leading me to work as a neuroscientist after immigrating to Canada. My neuroscience research around how music can help reduce seizures in individuals with epilepsy deepened my appreciation for the many ways healing can take place. Additionally, my personal journey through traumas, pain, suffering, and the search for meaning has profoundly shaped how I view healing as a path toward deeper self-exploration and understanding. Today, I carry with me both a scientific perspective and curiosity, as well as a deep respect for how individuals' journeys could impact their experience in the present.

I was born and raised in the Middle East, in Iran, and my own experience of immigration has helped me understand the complex emotional layers that come with leaving behind one life to begin another. These transitions, filled with both possibility and loss, have given me a deep appreciation for how culture, identity, and belonging impact our mental health.

Over time, my desire to support people more personally grew stronger, guiding me toward becoming a psychotherapist who walks alongside individuals through some of life’s most challenging moments. This path led me to pursue and complete a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, allowing me to integrate my knowledge towards understanding human experience.

I am currently registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and work as a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying).
